  My name is Davy Stix and I’m a Republican candidate for Commissioner of Lyon County from District 2. 

As a lifelong resident born and raised in Fernley, I would very much like to have your vote in this year’s primary election. My family and I have been ranching and raising beef cattle since 1965 in Fernley, where I have raised my family, and am proud to have my grandkids growing up in our great County as well.

I became a republican in Lyon County at the age of 18 voting for my first time for President, Ronald Reagan and it is something I feel strongly about! I’m tired of those who talk but do not deliver, I’m tired of politicians telling us what they think we want to hear and not telling us what we need to hear.

I believe in God, the sanctity of life, and I believe in our Constitution and the Rule of Law. My oath I take quite literally, and it is my pledge to how I will represent you If you feel me worthy of the office I am asking you to entrust me with.

Growth and protecting our way of life is one of the most important and challenging issues we face in our time and I’m the man to help guide us. Good, smart growth, using the law to mitigate the impacts of that growth should be our priority. It is you, the residents who I will always consider when making decisions. 

I admit though, I have a special interest group I have to look out for, It’s you the residents of Lyon County.

The County budget should be developed with a wise, conservative approach, looking always at costs first. Public safety is very important to me as well as our seniors and the legacy they have left us. 

The programs that have been built over the years to assist our Seniors in enjoying their golden years must be preserved.
